About Avril,

I grew up in Ireland with sport and fitness as an integral part of my life. My grandmother was a great inspiration to me; healthy choices and regular exercise were part of her lifestyle and I’m sure this enabled her to reach such a great age of 98 years!

I have competed in many sports over the years; gymnastics, netball and rowing, to mention a few, along with enjoying a range of workouts to boost my fitness and well-being.

I always knew I wanted to take my passion and inspire others to be active, engaged in exercise and educated about healthy living.

At the age of 18, I moved to London and trained as a PE teacher where fitness testing and fitness training methods were an important part of my university degree.

During this time, I also undertook many different coaching qualifications including weight training, swimming, netball and gymnastics.

Since then, I continue to enjoy over 20 years of teaching PE to students from 11-18 years as well as coaching gymnastics at Horsham Gymnastics Centre on a regular basis.

Married to a wonderful man, with three beautiful children, I eventually found time to extend my skill base as a Personal Trainer and Strength and Conditioning Coach.

I understand how busy mums often feel - providing endless opportunities for their children - leaving their own fitness on ‘the backburner’ as a result.

I also notice, as teenagers’ responsibilities increase and organised sport for them decreases, so too do their fitness levels which can have knock-on effects on their self-esteem and motivation.

In this modern, technologically driven world, where screen-time is ever increasing for both adults and teenagers alike, I feel passionate about helping people to address the balance.

By providing personal training opportunities matched to your needs, your progress and results will improve your long-term physical and mental health, fitness levels and those all important feel-good factors.

Remember, TRAIN 2 ATTAIN FITNESS, is here to help!
